SOFIX
1994
In this sequel, the story concentratas far more on Fujiko - another judo wannabe, and you play the game from her point of view rather than photographer Matsuda's. Yawara herself is very much in the background here and not nearly as prominent as in the first. The game suffers more than the original in terms of repetition, as very little takes place outside of either the judo hall or training room, meaning that unless you can understand the plot then it gets very samey. It is also quite short compared to other digi-comics and somehow feels less interactive, with many long sequences that run on auto without barely a touch on the pad.
There are a selection of bonuis extras for added value. These include a quiz, character information, a cookery lesson, an unlockable game of othello and an arcade style judo battle game. Again it's all in Japanese and I can't really comment on the judo game as after fiddling around for ages I still couldn't work out exactly how to play it. If you're hankering for another digital comic and have the first, then you could do worse than pick this up for cheap - the artwork is still very good but you may get less out of it than you would like to.
