Forerunner to Forgotten Worlds. A slightly original control method means that you use the fire buttons to shoot in different directions. The power ups are selectable and if you collect an alpha symbol you combine with another ship for a super robot, which is really quite handy dontchaknow. A great conversion with some nice graphics, but I think the gameplay could’ve been a little more engaging. A real finger killer if you don’t have autofire. It also suffers a bit from the lack of invincibility when you die, making it easy to lose two or three lives in a row.

GRAPHICS: Nice shiny sprites. Anime fans should look out for a guest appearance by one of the God Warriors from Nausicaa in the background.

SOUND: Some nice tunes, although the effects do knock out a channel at times, which is a bit annoying. CD version obviously doesn't suffer from this.
