ASMIK/SEGA
13 APRIL 1990
Ambitious conversion of Sega’s excellent racing game that only just manages to pull it off. Instead of choosing your tracks, like in the arcade, this version limits you to playing them in order, continuously. It’s a little jerky at times, and not amazingly easy to control but it’s very fast and frantic and you do feel a sense of achievement if you get far.
GRAPHICS: Really jerky movement, but not as bad as I would have expected.
SOUND: Power Drift has amazing tunes, and this version rolls them all into one medley, albeit with below average sound quality. Sampled speech is a bit rough, but at least it's there.
