FALCOM
1993
The first of Falcom’s RPGs that they converted themselves (I think - I wouldn’t be surprised if some of Hudson’s programmers had defected for this one), and they’ve done themselves proud. Smart graphics and good chip music, and the occasional sideways action segment livens things up. The only problem is that the Japanese text can make it a matter of pure luck as to whether you get anywhere or not, but it’s worth the effort.
GRAPHICS: Dragonslayer-esque overhead scenes, and some lovely horizontal levels.
SOUND: Maybe too much chip sound for a CD game, but the tunes are typically Falcom (which is always a good thing).
