HUDSON SOFT/WESTONE

1993

This scrolling beat em up certainly shows the PC Engine is technically capable of moving big sprites around with no clash or slowdown, but the graphics are extremely rough and half-finished, and the simplistic gameplay consists of only a couple of moves, making this get tedious far quicker than it ought to. If the levels were shortened and a little more thought had gone into the game design, then it could have been a very good Final Fight clone. As it stands, it is fun for a couple of levels, but get boring very fast.

GRAPHICS: Nice big sprites with little clash, but they’re badly drawn and the backgrounds are very sketchy. The intro art is also not as good as I would expect from a company like Hudson.

SOUND: One great jingle, loads of forgettable tunes. General ‘oohs’ and ‘urgs’ for effects.
